Defensor record 2-0 win

Defensor Sporting have secured their first win of the 2012 Copa Libertadores with a 2-0 triumph over Ecuador's Deportivo Quito in Montevideo yesterday.


After suffering a 3-0 loss at home to Velez in the opening round, Defensor came out of the blocks looking to put the defeat behind them and were rewarded with a penalty on 22 minutes.

Brahiam Aleman had no qualms about putting the penalty away to net the Uruguayan sides first goal of this years tournament.

They had to wait until twelve minutes from time to grab a second with Maximiliano Callorda doubling the home sides advantage and securing the three points.

Defensor move up to second in Group 7 while Deportivo Quito were demoted to last with just a point after two games.
